SELECTOR REEEEEEWINNNDDDDDDDDDDD

A few weeks ago I posted about the Latino vote leaning strongly towards getting Barack Obama elected to the highest office in our country, which was evident by the song linked above. No one can resist a Mariachi band

Well today I can say so is the West Indian vote. Now before ya'll go get yourselves all twisted up in knots, let's be real....

There are SOME West Indians (I will say this again SOME) who believe the hype about African Americans. I have heard many West Indian folks say African Americans are lazy, don't take care of their kids and blah blah blah but the same is true for them. When it all comes down to it this is just another conquer and divide tactic. So be smart! Anyway this post totally went another way..... dang, once I get on my soapbox its hard to get me down.

Here is the legendary Coco-tea (famous for one of my favorite songs "Riker Island")singing his newest song "Barack Obama" (source: Keith, 2x's one day on the shout outs).

Reggae not your thing? O.K. Soca it is, courtesy of the Mighty Sparrow.

"O" is going to take that shit...(some of) the whites want to see him fail, that's why they're not pushing Mccain. They know how bad George B fucked this country up and they're going to try and let the brother take the hit.

But Obama is gonna do it in 5 and coast his last three years....watch.

I love that man!

Keith brought the "FIYA" with this youtube find. What I love about the Obama phenomenon is how it is bringing all types of folks together. I can't remember the last time their was this much passion about a politician across all the normal lines that divide us.

@Fresh&Fab, I like the soca song better than the coco tea. I appreciate both though because its all about closing the divide.
SO glad you like Chrisette, its such a well put together album. I can't wait for her sophomore joint. Be ok is my joint, best song I've heard about just getting over it.

@lena, now you know you love a mariachi band and those costumes, hehe.

@pretty black. Oh I know you love Obama. WE roll hard for him! Like Biggie for Brooklyn (hehe!)

@Park avenue. Doesn't that song just take you back! Its crazy what we use to sing when we were younger, all about jail and I was singing like it was a song I wrote.

@Mrs. M.R My big sis, I think she is just as obsessed with Obama as I am. Yes Keith hit big with this one! I don't know what you are going to do without him.

OBAMA in '08 people. This is serious business. I read on another site how he thinks people are just intrigued by Obama but not really paying attention to all of the issues. I tend to disagree! There is no way to be passionate about Obama and look past the issues. He does his best to speak on them and after November he will be able to speak on even more.

I love Mighty Sparrow; grew up on homeboy. I've never seen so many West Indians - esp those who can't even vote lol - take interest before.
